Well, that was our news for today, and now, for music! You folks in Rutania may know this song, as it was a hit in practically the whole of North Artania. These are the Fair Event, led by front-man and Torville, Haboves, Kanjor native Pierre-Francois D'Jean, who immigrated with his family to Rutania in 2919, and formed his band in 2944 at the age of 34. Please enjoy the song "Stay" from the Fair Event.
A terrific song, stemming from the problems D'Jean had in relationships as he was seen as an "immigrant" in the Rutanian nationalistic society. Needless to say that D'Jean didn't have a problem with relationships after forming his band and writing such songs.
And now for our news on focus today, and boy, folks, has it been all about the Macon Pact or Macon Union this week, from Hutori to Rutania and even Malivia!
First off, Telamon requested for other, non-Macon nations to join the pact, and the Macon Union agreed. As a result, Rutania was asked, as you all may remember, Rutania aided Telamon against Hutori in the war. But, in Rutania, the legislature rejected entrance in to the Macon Pact, citing a government reports that cites issues with sovereignty and goals of the nations within the Union. RSL's Reginald Blackburn was the most critical of the pact, calling the Macon Pact nations "megalomaniacs" and "blood-thirsty".
After that rejection in Rutania, Hutori's ruling HCP, citing issues with Telamon, the President of the Union and recruitment of foreign nations , decided to motion to retreat and decline participation in the new unionm even though they themselves help wrote the treaty. The opposition, more specifically the LD called out the ruling HCP and their sudden backtracking. HCP stated that it was not in the best interest of Hutori, but in the interest of Telamon.
After all the fanfare in both Rutania and Hutori, a Malivian professor wrote a opinion piece on the talks, citing several similarities with the old Macon Union and this new Macon Pact, where he cited that the issue of the President of the Union was also a point of disagreement that ultimately ended up with another conservative party of Hutori pulling out, that caused Davostan and Telamon to blockade Hutori. Professor Rhayyid's commentary also predicted war to come out if it indeed does fail.
Folks, it seems that the year opened up with dilemmas, as things are sure heating up up north, so we'll keep you updated as the days pass by. Also, as an additional update, it seems that the ruling LP government has fallen in Jelbania, and that talks of war between Luthori and Jelbania has calmed down.
Folks, I hope you have a great day and a great and happy new year, and also a safe new year, especially in these times. I'm Carson Shepard signing off, wishing you all the best for the rest of the day. But first, please do enjoy a number from Keymonite band the Frontier Pioneers and their song "We Never Change" on International Airwaves Network, like music to your ears. So long, and have a safe day.
