Henryk I Crowned Emperor
Story By: Marcin Heder, Columnist

-Białograd, Wielkowalruzja

Celebrations echoed in the streets today as Emperor Henryk I was crowned in Liberation Square (Plac Wolnośći). The young ruler of 21 years of age took the crown and all titles due him, replacing his Lord Father, Artur I, who has taken ill as of late.

The following is an excerpt from the Emperor's coronation speech:
"This nation was once a place of beauty, of laughter, of culture, and of music. And so it shall be once more! Know this: never again will the land of my people fall into enemy hands! Never again will the blood of Valruzians be spilt here to no avail! We are a proud people; a strong people; a Free people!"

FC Białograd Strikes Back, Takes Title
Story By: Damian Fedarowski, Sports Columnist

-Białograd, Wielkowalruzja

Anticipation was high, and so were the hopes for the final outcome of the 3237/3238 LPN season today, and plenty of upsets were left to talk about as a result. Primarily, FC Białograd took home the League title, beating rivals Hel FC by two points in the standings. This result came unexpectedly, as Hel FC took a loss at their last season game against IKS Ignaczak, leaving the top spot to Białograd as they pulled off a 1:0 win against ZPN Janoczew. A further surprise was had in the competition, as 2nd league newcomer KS Nawiączek claimed third place, leaving fourth place to FK Relonanki. The promoted team had everything to fight for, and they did so with finesse, edging out the competition along the way. The four teams now advance into the further stages of the Seleyan Champions League, where they will encounter other accomplished teams from across Seleya.

In terms of relegation, newcomer ZPN Janoczew and Lechia Smałyrz will be relegated into the 2nd League, whereas former 1st League team FC Tirtul and newly-promoted FK Godno will move up into 1st League play.

Valruzia to Host Football World Cup
Story By: Marcin Heder, Columnist

-Hel, Tormaszek

Valruzia is no stranger to football. We have our own association, the VFA; we have 2 leagues, the LPN and the 2.LPN, of which the top 4 teams from the former advance onto the international stage in Seleya; we have our international representative squad, composed of the best Valruzian players on the planet; and of course we have all of the small programs and such that further develop our football prowess. Having taken these qualities into account, it would also seek fitting that Valruzia be able to display this power to the world. And such an opportunity was handed to us, as we host the 3238 Terran World Cup.The stakes are high, but Valruzia is ready to meet the challenge head-on. We have always prided ourselves for being football giants, and it is time for the world to know this to be true.

The international tournament will be hosted in 10 of Valruzia's cities, though all of Valruzia remains open and friendly for visitors. The following stadiums will be used for the tournament (domestic teams will be relocated to nearby arena, should they still require their use):
*Stadion Starej Valonii, Orlik, Wielkowalruzja
*Stadion Olimpijski, Białograd, Wielkowalruzja
*Stadion Tysiąclecia, Relonanki, Wielkowalruzja
*Arłuszek Arena, Arłuszek, Chulbark
*Nowa Ruzja, Traczengrad, Chulbark
*RuzAir Arena, Hel, Tormaszek
*Arena im. Aleksandra Sterzyńskiego, Tirtul, Biało Ustka
*Stalowa Wola, Babice, Biało Ustka
*Stara Buda, Godno, Małowalruzja
*Arena Chłopska, Krawiec, Małowalruzja

At the Football Hall of Fame in Hel, Tormaszek, fans are gathering for their tickets to the event. Such an event promises to bring a high revenue and tourism for Valruzia, as well as better foreign relations with the rest of Terra. The excitement here in Valruzia is already palpable; let's see what the result will be in several months time, as we open the 3238 Terran World Cup: Valruzia!

Hel FC Claims Second League Title
Story By: Damian Fedarowski, Sports Columnist

-Hel, Tormaszek

The footballing crusaders from Hel came back home today with their heads held high and silverware around their necks, as Hel FC won the Liga for the second time, the last being in 3236. Accumulating a total of 66 points, Hel dominated the league for the most part, never falling below fourth place in the league standings and spending 22 out 34 games at the top of the league. An unlikely contender took second place, only after conceding first place to Hel in the 31st fixture. At 61 points, FK Godno took the second-place spot, leaving IKS Ignaczak to take 3rd with 60 points. A beleaguered FC Białograd, last season's champions, took 4th place with 57 points in total. Many other notable teams failed to perform adequately this season, particularly FK Relonanki, which ended up at 9th place in the league table; such an occurrence is odd, considering that FK Relonanki is typically within the top 4. Another disappointing season performance was had by last season's 3rd place winner KS Nawiączek, which ended up at 7th this season.

Following relegation standards, the bottom two teams must be relegated into the 2nd League. Having already been relegated once before, FC Tirtul returns back to the 2nd League due to a highly disappointing performance this season, gathering up a meager 25 points in total, the lowest ever in the LPN. Accompanying Tirtul will be a surprising Wieś Orlik squad, who are typically one of the better teams, going as high as 6th place in the 3236 season. To compensate, KS Arłuszek and FC Olbark will be promoted up into 1st League play, having won the 2.LPN.

Liga Dominated by Hel FC
Story By: Damian Fedarowski, Sports Columnist

-Hel, Tormaszek

Yet another league title was added to Hel FC's trophy cabinet today, as they secured top spot in the Liga Piłki Nożnej. Despite a rocky start to the season, the star team from Tormaszek blitzed through the competition, having secured 1st place from game 11. From then on, the remainder of the league was smooth sailing, as Hel stayed atop the league table for a record 23 game streak. Additionally, Hel FC set a new record for league points, with 67 acquired throughout the season. As it was predicted by many, FC Białograd took 2nd place with 57 points in total, the exact same amount as last season. An stellar performance was had by TKS Traczengrad, which surprised many this season, allowing the team to finish 3rd with 52 points. A tough FK Godno squad held it together to take 4th place this season with 52 points, compared to the 2nd place they managed to take last season. In response to surprises, there were also several upsets. Last season's 3rd place team, IKS Ignaczak, was almost faced with relegation this year, having been saved by a goal difference of 5 in regards to second-last BKS Babice, a club that has consistently remained within the top half of the league. FK Relonanki also failed to perform this season, sitting at their 9th place spot, same as last season.

Following relegation standards, the bottom two teams must be relegated into the 2nd League. This year, BKS Babice and KS Sęczno will be joining the relegation league, having performed inadequately throughout. Both teams usually place within the top half of the league, so it is quite the upset to see both relegated into the 2.LPN. In their place, Kamus FC and Gracze Miranowa will be promoted into first league play.

FK Relonanki Stirs up League Competition
Story By: Damian Fedarowski, Sports Columnist

-Relonanki, Wielkowalruzja

The footballers from the former Valruzian capital stormed through the league in fantastic style, placing first after a few years of unsuccessful league seasons. With the first place win, FK Relonanki set a new record for both the Points category, with 68 total points, as well as the goal difference category, setting a new record of 26. This overtakes Hel FC's previous records of 67 and 23, respectively. With Relonanki taking the win, Hel FC was forced to settle for second place with a total of 66 points, while FC Białograd took third with 65 points. An embattled TKS Traczengrad managed to take fourth place with a mere 54 points.

Notable performances were seen this season from KS Nawiączek, who managed to place 5th in the competition, as well as Gwardia Żmigród, a team that is usually in the bottom half of the league table. Newcomers Gracze Miranowa and Kamus FC have managed to hold their own in the league, with neither team in the relegation zone. A shocking result came from FK Godno, who were able to avoid relegation by a mere one goal in the goal difference category. The club, which usually performs adequately enough to land within the top 5 in the league, under-performed this season and was saved from relegation by sheer luck.

Following relegation standards, KS Arłuszek and Górnik Walgodno will be joining the relegation league, having placed 17th and 18th, respectively. KS Arłuszek has been relegated before, while Walgodno has been relegated for the first time. In response, BKS Babice will be returning to the Superliga, joined by former First-League team FC Tirtul.

Valruzia Eyes Titles in both 3257 SLoC and 3258 World Cup
Story By: Damian Fedarowski, Sports Columnist

-Białograd, Wielkowalruzja

Undeniably, Valruzia has presented itself as one of the greater footballing nations of Terra. With the unparalleled organization of the Valruzian Superliga (formerly the Liga Piłki Nożnej, or LPN), as well as the 2.Superliga, Valruzia has the sporting roots of old, demanding quality and integrity over all else in its operation. The Valruzian Football Association, or VFA, have set a high standard for not only club football, but for international football as well. The All-Reds, as they are known on the pitch, are the pinnacle of Valruzian football, taking only the best of the best for "The Beautiful Game". And to this day, these result have had their fruition.

Almost six years ago, Valruzia met with Trigunia in a heated World Cup final that would be remembered for years to come. The score was settled in a tense penalty shootout, where Valruzia lost its demeanor under pressure. It took only one missed goal for Trigunia to take the league title, leaving Valruzia with a bitter silver to take home. That is all in the past.

Now, in 3257, Valruzia will attempt to battle against 5 other nations in the Seleyan League of Champions, a continental tournament that promises to be intense, due to its small stature. The All-Reds will be faced with other footballing nations in Seleya, these being Mordusia, Rildanor, Kanjor, Kalistan, and Keymon, all being nations that have had much success on the world stage of football. This year, the tournament will hold its first-ever games in the coastal nation of Mordusia, where football supremacy in Seleya will be decided.

In addition to this, Valruzia is keen on seeking the World Champion title in the 3258 Terran World Cup, following the second-place finish in 3252. The tournament location has yet to be decided.

Emperor Henryk Speaks Out Against Governmental Inaction
Story By: Mariusz Kandziora

-Białograd, Wielkowalruzja

The Valruzian Emperor, Lord Henryk I, spoke out against the inactions of the government recently. Since the fall of the Valruzian Imperial Administration from power, many of the facets of the Empire have been overlooked and forgotten about. While the WDC takes a backseat in the government, the Emperor is calling on the Democratic Party, as well as the Conversatives, to take action and to restore order in the government and in the nation, which is slowly declining into a state of anarchy. Due to the overarching control of the Democratic Party over the cabinet, ministers have turned to sloth, having neglected their duties for too long. The golden age of the nation is quite lost now, due to the negligence of the government. In addition, reports show that a large portion of the population is dissatisfied with the current administration, and may begin to take action for themselves, if nothing is being done at all.

Emperor Henryk I had only a small piece to say:
I once believed in the power of government. I believed that this was a system to bring order and responsibility to a greater populace of citizens. It was a way to streamline everything into a cohesive system that functioned like a well-oiled machine. This machine in Valruzia has become rusted and negleted, and pieces of it are beginning to fall apart. The citizens of Valruzia are not stupid; once the excrement hits the spinning turbine, there will be chaos, unrest, and reaction.

Members of the Democratic Party, the Conservative Party, as well as the WDC, were unavailable for their statements on the matter.

State of Emergency Declared in Valruzia
Story By: Mariusz Kandziora

-Białograd, Wielkowalruzja

Revolts and riots were reported today in several cities in Chulbark and Małowalruzja, causing the Valruzian Emperor, Lord Henryk I, to declare a state of emergency in the nation. Among the cities in revolt are Hel and Berej in Tormaszek, Galia in Chulbark, and Walgodno and Ignaczak in Małowalruzja. It is said that rioters took to the streets, vandalizing government works and Valruzian political buildings, with limited control being administered by local law enforcement.

For the safety of foreign ambassadors, the Emperor has also decreed that all embassies are to be in lockdown and that any foreign internationals in Valruzia should leave the country until such a time when the crisis has abated. Additionally, all borders have been closed, with respect to entering the country, to ensure the safety of others.

So far, the governates of Wielkowalruzja, Biało Ustka, and Chulbark (with the exception of Galia) have been peaceful and without incident, though this scenario is predicted to change.

In addition to declaring a state of emergency within the nation, Emperor Henryk has also declared Martial Law, with all executive decisions from the Imperial Office superseding any made by the cabinet or parties of the Senate, for a time until this crisis has ended.

Protests Cease, Regional Governments Toppled
Story By: Damian Fedarowski, Sports Columnist

-Białograd, Wielkowalruzja

Anti-government protests ceased today in most parts of Tormaszek and Małowalruzja as the regional governments in both Hel and Walgodno were removed and replaced with civilian representatives. The Eastern Governates now await a response from the central government, in an attempt to compromise on a suitable arrangement. While no military intervention has been noted thus far, many civilians fear that the governing parties of the Senate may order a military action to quell the unrest and silence any outcry.

While the struggles may have stopped in the eastern governates, protests are still ongoing in Galia, Chulbark, despite a lack of reaction in the remainder of the governate. The Governates of W.Walruzja and Biało Ustka have seen no unusual activity in recent times and life is returning to normal in parts of the nation.

Emperor Henryk I condemned any military action, stating that Valruzians fighting against each other would only bring larger conflict. As of late, the Emperor has been coming under fire from the media for being unable to contain this crisis. While he may be the authority in this nation, much of the power has been returned to the senate since the fall of the Valruzian Imperial Administration. He has been labeled as only a shadow of his grandfather, Aleksander I, and has been described quite negatively as weak, unjust, and apathetic.

Lack of Government Response Prompts Unrest
Story By: David Krysicki

-Hel, Tormaszek

A further lack of response from the Senate has prompted widespread unrest in Tormaszek and M.Walruzja, giving the people no indication of whether the government is even aware of what has transpired here. The WDC has relinquished their power in the senate to attempt to resolve this crisis as citizens, as government employees aren't well received in the protested areas. Any decisions regarding actions taken here are solely up to the Democratic Party or the Conservative Party, if they can propose a suitable response.

Meanwhile, political disputes are taking place in lieu of protests in Galia, as local legislators are attempting to draw up the limits for the metropolitan area, aptly named the Greater Galia Area (GGA). It is unclear what the purpose of this exercise is, but at the time being, it is a much-needed break from protests.

The Emperor had no comment on these developments.

BREAKING NEWS: Emperor Abdicates
Story By: David Krysicki

-Białograd, Wielkowalruzja

Due to extenuating circumstances surrounding the current administrative turmoil in the government, the Valruzian Emperor, Lord Henryk I, has abdicated.

A statement was released soon afterward, explaining the decision:
Henryk I wrote:I love democracy. I love Valruzia. But the destruction of the nation from the inside, to destroy its language its symbolism, its culture; I cannot stand against tyranny on my own. Never did I think that the nation would turn against itself, but it has, and there will be a price to pay in blood. Valruzia, I would pay the blood price gladly, but this is not Valruzia anymore.

It has been rumored that the Emperor will be living out his days in Gaduridos, seeking refuge from what plagues Valruzia.

Valruzia, The Cultureless
Story By: David Krysicki

-Białograd, Wielkowalruzja

A foreign governmental coup has thrown the government into disarray, and with it the entire nation. Headed by both the Democratic Party and the Communist Party of Valruzia, the coup has overturned all administrative policies in the nation, to the point of forcing a new cultural turnaround. With that being imposed by the joint governmental instigators, the nation's culture has been effectively destroyed, ushering in a substitute bent on the elimination of everything considered to be "Valruzian".

Among the changes being made are the total conversion of Valruzia from an Empire back into a Federation. This change has been extremely poorly received from many citizens of Valruzia, who are reminded of the result of the last time a Federation was imposed on the nation. Additionally, the regional names have been set back to the meaningless archaic names of Ancient Valruzia, as if to suggest that the nation be brought back in time.

Other changes include the removal of the Walruzian language from existence, instead replacing it with the common tongue of Terra, as well as the removal of football and the Valruzian Lion as the symbols of our nation. Even the Motto has been removed and defiled by the intrusive government.

Citizens in Valruzia are pleading with officials to revert the changes, but the hope for such is rather low at the moment. Other parts of Valruzia are experiencing vast migrations and mobilizations of people and equipment to larger cities. In many regions, protests have lined the streets in front of government buildings, demanding change from the newly imposed regulations.

Hel FC, Valruzia's Best?
Story By: Damian Fedarowski, Sports Columnist

-Hel, Tormaszek

Citizens in Hel were given a small break from the local turmoil as the city's footballers returned bearing the SuperLiga Champions award. Following last season's defeat to FK Relonanki, Hel FC was determined to reclaim the title for their own, proving to Valruzia that they are, and always will be, a force to be reckoned with. Claiming first place on top of the league with an astounding 73 points, the Tormaszek team did more than just win; they set the bar pretty high for the future by breaking records in the number of total points ever awarded in the SuperLiga (against FK Relonanki's 68 from last season), as well as both win count and goal difference (23 and 29, respectively, beating FK Relonanki's previous record of 20 and 26). Staying at the top of the league for 21 weeks out of the 34, and never going below fourth, one can only wonder if Hel FC can be declared Valruzia's best team at this point. While the Tormaszek giants boast many victories, with many players being on the national squad as well, their budget remains modest, with the majority of their funding coming from sponsorships from RuzAir and Ankusz Electronics, among others. With that, many questions arise with regards to the source of the team's success in finding the best men to play the beautiful game. The majority of the team is of Valruzian origin, with several players hailing from Gaduridos, Dorvik, Likatonia, and Keymon, among other nations as well. Perhaps it is this multi-cultural atmosphere that has made the Valruzian SuperLiga one of the most prestigious football leagues on Terra.

In the shadow of Hel FC's success, FC Białograd came in second with 57 points, leaving a 16-point difference between themselves and the champions. With a modest 55 points enters FK Relonanki, who dropped down from first to third place this season, despite having led the table for 9 consecutive weeks at one point. A determined FC Podrynek took fourth place with 54 points, showing a moderate improvement from last season's ninth place finish.

Following relegation standards, the bottom two teams must be relegated into the 2nd League. For a third time, FC Tirtul is relegated into 2nd League, having provided an insufficient effort to escape 17th place. Joining them will be FC Olbark, who has dropped from 12th to 18th since last season. In their stead, Lechia Smałyrz and Górnik Walgodno will be promoted to 1st league following a good performance this season.
