Close Elections May Result in Federalist PresidentAfter the
restoration of the Principal Republic of Lodamun,
close election results were no surprise to all parties. Fighting for 300 seats, the 4 parties polled so close that the top party won only 29 more seats (less than 10%) than the 4th party. No party has managed to reach more than 100 seats, which means none can be dominant or have enough power on its own to block a bill that requires a supermajority vote. "The next 4 years, in Lodamun, should be rather interesting," Nationalist Leader Edwin Fertig said. The Nationalists plan to back
an attempt, by the Federalists, to form a minority government.
"The Federalists will be in power at the best time," Fertig said, "we, Nationalists, plan to propose a range of bills to form technocratic committees and strengthen the executive. A strong executive means a more stable government. Our proposals, for these committees, will also ensure that individual states are given seats according to their relevance to the area of focus. For example, Golavia and Kregon are our most militaristic states, so they deserve to have more
say in military affairs. Kregon is our largest state, so it deserves to have more representation in
the Land Management Council. This reduces all the unnecessary chatter from wannabe geniuses in the council."
The policies of Lodamun's 4 parties are evenly distributed on the left-to-right scale. The Communist Party is center-left, the Green Party is left-of-center, the Nationalists are right-of-center, and the Federalists are center-right. It's an interesting distribution.
