Disintegration of the KMEOMay 3534 - In response to Deltarian pressure, the Central Majatran Federative Democratic Republic agreed to end all military attempts to forcefully return the breakaway republics into the fold of the Central Majatran Federation. The President of the Federation and Commander in Chief of Central Majatra's armed forces, Ibrahim Simonides, announced that Kalopia-Wantuni would disband her armed forces and make no military attempt to interfere with the right of self-determination of Central Majatra's various constituent peoples. This new decision was in no way popular with the dominant Kalopians, who are in control of the armed forces and much of the central government.
In an attempt to prevent the collapse of the Federation due to its demilitarization, Mihail Maniotis, a notable member of the Central Majatran Revolutionary Organization (KMEO), suggested a new constitutional arrangement at the 25st Congress of the KMEO, one that he deemed a Final Solution to all of Central Majatra's problems. Maniotis suggested that, in order to avoid the dominance of one ethnic faction over others in the CMF, the President of the Federation ought to be elected by a 21-member panel, whereby each of the seven ethnic factions of the KMEO is represented by three delegates. The motion, receiving much hostility from the Kalopian faction, which supported a more unitary organization and feared that Maniotis' suggestion would lead to factionalization, was eventually approved. Ibrahim Simonides was dismissed from his position as President of the Federation (
OOC: yeah, I'll have early elections later on; just pretend there is no HoS in Kalopia-Wantuni), while the panel was set to elect the new Head of State of Central Majatra. Unfortunately, because each of the seven different factions tried to push for its own candidate to be elected President, there could be no common agreement. Ultimately, Maniotis' suggestion ended up further factionalizing the party, eliminating the last element keeping the Federation together.
Mihail Maniotis' attempt at preserving the unity of Central Majatra backfired horiblyKalopia Secedes from Kalopia-WantuniJuly 3534 - The Democratic Republics of Kalopia-Mossavi, Kalopia-Minosasa, and Kalopia-Sessold, all ruled by Yanni Viastis and his Kalopian nationalist faction, have all simultaneously declared secession. The three republics immediately afterwards voted to be joined together as the Democratic Republic of Kalopia, bringing back a unitary Kalopian government for the first time since the Republic of Kalopia. This secession ultimately puts an end to the Central Majatran Federation, which can no longer claim any territory. The new Kalopian government has implemented a policy of what it terms "re-Kalopianization", a process of integrating the Sessoldian minority into the Kalopian ethnicity. This process includes, among others, forceful conversion of Ahmadis to the Theognosian Chuch, a ban on the Sessoldian dialect, and the prohibition of typically Sessoldian names. In response to this aggression, many Sessoldians are revolting against the Kalopian government, and the Siphinan and Wantuni republics have declared war on Kalopia. It seems that, in spite of Deltaria's efforts, war in Central Majatra could not be prevented.
