Revolution in DolinkaNew Pápež ElectedMarch 15, 3746Pápež Augustus III has passed away after suffering a massive heart attack. The Pápež, 59 at his time of death, is thought to have to suffered a heart attack triggered by the ongoing Marchers' occupation of Dolinka. The Marchers called for the release of activist priest Fr. Mircea Streza and reform in the Church and did not weaken their resolve when Fr. Streza was released and placed under house arrest. Shortly after the Pápež died in his office in the western wing of the Apostolic Palace and the Kardinals and Archbiskups who make up the Holy Sobor streamed in to elect the Pápež's successor.
At the onset of the conclave, the favourite is believed to have been the 75 year old Kardinal Secretary of State Miloš z Horthy is thought to have been the favourite in his fourth bid for the Pápežate. The Marchers however had other ideas. They yelled out 'Streza! Streza! Streza!' referring to the very man who brought them to Dolinka after all. The crowds moved in on the Apostolic Palace and in one of the shortest conclaves ever, the Holy Sobor elected, in a huge upset, Fr. Mircea Streza as the new Pápež of the Terran Patriarchal Church. It was only then the Marchers withdrew from the surroundings of the Apostolic Palace.
Pápež Mircea IThe 78 year old is one of the most low ranking clergymen to be raised to the Pápežate. A simple and low born Ushalandan who has served the same parish ( Lagarui Mutilarii) for 46 years. His persistent criticism of corruption and laxity in the Church froze hiscareer and even led to attempts to remove him, attempts which failed due to the parishioners' devotion to him. Upon being told of his election, the new Pápež rejected the honour and it took several hours before he agreed to accept it -if only to reform the Church. He also refused to change his name,as Pápežes traditionally upon election saying it had
'been good enough for 78 years.'
