I'd much rather serve in the U.S. Senate, perhaps after serving in the House or as Governor of Virginia, because I see myself more as a legislator than as a "President".
Who knows, Hogan was elected Governor! You never know what the states may turn up to be in 3, 4, or even 5 decades. 50 years ago in Virginia, there was the Byrd political machine that essentially locked Virginia as a Democratic state. After a short stint as a Republican bastion, it is now purple again. I have no clue as to the political lining of Virginia in the next 30, 40, or 50 years.
I believe many current members of the government are stupid, and most of these people come from "safe" districts, both Republican and Democrat.
My favorite is Hank Johnson (D), a black Buddhist from Georgia who is worried that Guam might tip over and capsize if there's too many people.
