Eeda's not into TemptationPundits unsure of future direction for countryEeda at his victory speech, surprisingly calmSLADJIE, Dandratur - Vizierial candidate from the Cynical Bastardry Party, Youl Eeda, has taken a surprise victory in the elections for the August Parliament. The platform of anti-stagnation rhetoric adopted by the party seems to have captivated the electorate in overturning Democrat dominance into a constitutional majority, as well as taking every single seat in the Principality of Dandratur.
Youl Eeda wrote:In order to bring our people under accountable government, we accept the powers of the majority graciously bestowed upon us.
In order to bring ourselves to the table with those nations whose paths we've crossed, we assume all the positions to give them the chance for new opinions.
In order to bring our nation out of the stagnation, we grant it this new leaf.
Youl has acknowledged several congratulatory statements from overseas and duly credited them at his acceptance speech.
Youl Eeda wrote:The Bastards acknowledge the kind congratulations from Talmoria and Aslistan, even in these difficult times. We feel the time is right to convene the faces and opinions involved in this conflict, see where resolutions - however small - can be obtained and, most importantly of all, use rhetoric in speeches to make me sound damn good.
I have also received warm and welcoming words from Alfonso Rias. Some view him as a terrorist against an Empire, some as a freedom fighter for an oppressed people, but I see him as a man of belief. Whether this administration will see eye to eye with him must be decided over a negotiating table and not through the end of a rifle scope.
I make no promises to those who would rather see Pontesians out - any withdrawal would raise questions and certainly not be an overnight proceedure - or to those would would rather I did not instigate warm words with those who challenge the state we govern, except the chance - in this moment at least - to put themselves forward as themselves in their own words, rather than put others down by themselves in their own graves.
Preparations to host a conference of the Pontesian parties, parties in Gaduridos and Talmonian representatives are underway to attempt to abate the escalation of tensions in Gaduridos and between the intelligence agencies of Pontesi and Talmoria, amid esponiage accusations voiced earlier this year. A cabinet entirely comprised of Bastards has been sworn in, with a view to bringing all other factions together under a chairmanship previously uninvolved with the conflict, but it remains to be seen whether holding the conference in Pontesi itself will serve to bring the fairness of the talks into question.
Party Paper PooperExposed memo challenges paper's integrityUger, CBP Electoral co-ordinator, now Interal Affairs minister is mobbed by press outside his local pubLERNA, Xanduley - A memo containing election preparations by the CBP has been leaked to the Enquirer, entailing controversial details and names of policy plans considering inappropriate by some but endearingly amusing by others. A statement was released by Noezib Uger, the electoral co-ordinator for the party, as he was accosted by cameras outside his local pub on the fifth floor of an apartment block in the capital, Lerna.
Noezib Uger wrote:It has been brought to my attention that some of the internal nomenclature of the CBP election plan - which I point out shouldn't have been leaked by the press anyway - has ruffled a few feathers, raised several eyebrows and produced a few laughs. I feel obligated and somewhat pressurised into explaining the names we used.
The "Lost Cause" was the name for the campaign in Mainulay, due to the perceived strength of the socialists there. It appears it drove our supporters on more, and having only been beaten into second place by around 9,000 votes, we are still proud of our efforts there. It is good to have a region where all major parties can have a say - even the Democrats on 11 seats can be vital kingmakers - as well as regions where we can enact our policies to the letter; the results in one can help identify how to improve another, the core of our federal support policy.
The "Armpit" campaign was not to slur Abure - as much as our junior ministers involved probably did after the number of "El Presidente" cocktails they had at the launch dinner - but in reference to Abure's geographical shape and its position as the central "joint" of Pontesian infrastructure, but I can assure you that our junior ministers did not have any of those.
The most talked about, and I stress this was meant to be internal, was the "What the F*** is going on debate". This is the planned conference with Pontesian, Talmorian and Gaduri representatives as we question the validity of certain news outlets that are probably publishing this, as well as the copious piles information we've received that our press team threatened to go on strike over, rather than be bothered to sift through. We have since persuaded them with a large keg of beer to get on with it and hope to be fully briefed before the conference is called. Thank you.
It is rumoured the conference is to be held in Lerna itself, but -despite people making a connection to the financial centre of the country - the Enquirer has been unable to decode "Wango City" in CBP internal memos.
