In a Military Transport Plane somewhere over Majatra

Sgt. Correa nervously took a deep breath as he received the OK signal from the flight crew. Looking to the rest of his companions he gave a light nod, causing them all to frantically pull themselves up from their sitting positions - a difficult task considering all the heavy gear they were carrying. Correa stumbled over to his machine gunner as the plane banked a little to the right, and helped him up. As he did so, the tailgate at the aft end of the plane began to lower. Correa took another deep breath and made his way over to the tailgate, his men following in an orderly line behind him. After a minute or so the tailgate lowered fully and a member of the flight crew walked over and tapped him on the shoulder.

"Have fun, Sergeant. Just go when your ready."

"What's our altitude right now?" The Sergeant asked out of morbid curiosity.

"900 feet."

"Super." Correa doubted if the sarcasm would carry over the drone of the planes engine. In training the highest height he jumped from was 500 feet, and he did so 'combat light' - with only his weapons and no rucksack. This time he was carrying practically everything they could throw on him it seemed. Peaking out at the view below him, Correa decided to count to three, close his eyes and just go for it.

"1....2....3....." He leapt from the plane without hesitation but forgot to close his eyes. After an initial moment of sheer terror he began to gently fall to earth and he realised he wasn't plummeting to his death. He vowed to keep his composure, considering the high value target they would be monitoring.

Deep Behind Enemy Lines...

Sgt. Correa and the rest of his four man team traversed carefully and purposefully through the thick forest. They had a contact to meet at a farmhouse up ahead, but they had to be quick about it - a task made difficult by the light rain that was now falling, gradually turning the ground to mud. Eventually they reached a clearing whereupon the point-man Corporal Hassan stopped. Correa raced up towards the Corporal.

"What is it? Why have we stopped?" Correa whispered in exasperation.

"I hear marching up ahead." The Corporals gaze was fixed upon the rocky elevation directly in front of them. Sgt. Correa motioned for everyone to stay put and gingerly made his way up the hill. As he neared the top he began to crawl and peeked out over the edge. He saw a group of around twenty soldiers marching in rigid formation. Correa took out his binoculars for a closer look and to his delight saw they were armed with nothing but sticks. They must be new recruits in basic training he reasoned. The Sergeant made his way back down the hill in a half-slide half-walk, cursing under his breath as he landed on his backside.

"No danger." Correa said as he dusted himself off. "They were unarmed and they've passed now anyway. Let's go." His words eased his men's tension and they once more set toward their task. Advancing over the hill and into an open field they came to the farmhouse their contact was supposedly located in. Correa had his men set up a defensive perimeter as he went looking. Knocking on the door eluded no response and there was no signs of movement looking through the windows. The Sergeant began making his way to the barn when he suddenly bumped into a startled farmer, who dropped his buckets of milk.

"Nestrie ajte! Zoberte to, čo potrebujete! (Don't shoot! Take whatever you need!)" The farmer pleaded with terror etched on his face.

"Je to ok, Sme Coburan vojakov. (It is ok, we are Coburan soldiers.)" The farmer's face suddenly changed from one of horror to one of excitement.

"Prišiel si nás oslobodiť? (Have you come to liberate us?)" His eyes were filled with a mixture of hope and despair.

"Obávam sa, nie. Sme tu len na prieskum. (I am afraid not. We are just here on reconnaissance.)"

"Iste. Jurij mi povedal minulý týždeň. (Of course. Yuri told me last week.)" The farmer sighed and pulled a folded map from his pocket.

"To je miesto, označené na ňom. Je silne stráženej hoci. (This has the location marked on it. It is heavily guarded though.)" He handed the map to Correa.

"Ďakujeme vám. Možno, že jeden deň budeme uvoľňovať vás. (Thank you. Maybe one day we will liberate you.)"

Watching, waiting, watching, waiting.......

Sergeant Correa was bored out of his skull. For weeks they had been watching their designated target from the observation post they had set up, but they had seen precisely nothing of value. There were a few supply trucks here and there - oh and sheep - can't forget about the sheep. Maybe the sheep were what they were looking for? No. That would be insane. Maybe he was insane - the absolute mind numbing tedium of this mission was starting to make him think the craziest things. As Correa shifted uncomfortably in his foxhole, a message came over the radio, causing him to frantically fiddle the knob to turn up the volume.

"....Tiger Team this is Sabre, over. Come in Tiger Team. This is Sabre, over." Correa fumbled his mic into position.

"Sabre, Tiger Team here. Go ahead, over."

"The situation has been resolved. Head to grid reference 87100 ASAP for immediate extraction, over."

"Roger that, over."

"Any developments on your end, over?"

"Nothing whatsoever, over."

"Get home safely Tiger Team. Stay sharp, over."
