Chalini unveils constitutional reforms
Khanate to be restored under the House of CastilebJezhikoék'ai Paul Chalini announced before the legislature today the much awaited constitutional reform bill promised by the United New Jelbania Party. At the very core of the changes to the fundamental law is the restoration of the Khanate of Jelbania, with the throne to be offered to current Isràkai, Christopher Castileb and his descendants. Speaking in front of law makers, all 120 coming from the UNJ, Chalini said that this is a 'historic moment' for Jelbania and her people, and that the new fundamental law represents 'the path that will take the country forward'.
"The people have spoken. They have placed their trust in us. They have placed their trust in our message. They have placed their trust in our commitment to bring about a new Jelbania, where all the people shall come together in peace and enjoy the progress of society as brothers, Jelbanien and Jelbek alike. It is time we set aside the prejudices and stereotypes that have long divided us, it is time to move away from the fear and distrust we had for those who we consider different."
Chalini said that Christopher Castileb is the 'man to take Jelbania forward'. "He represents the best of us, and of what we can be. His entire life has been a preparation for this moment. His work has been a reflection of his desire to unite the peoples of Jelbania under one banner, to free them of the biases and prejudices which have prevented us from moving forward. He is therefore eminently qualified to lead us, as our wise and benevolent Khan. He and his lovely family, will continue the brand of service that have seen this country enjoy decades of peace and prosperity centuries ago."
The Jelbék Krs'kaisrne is expected to unanimously pass the new measure within the month, with officials already preparing for the coronation of Christopher Castileb as the new Khan of Jelbania.
Foreign Minister condemns Vanuku Prince's remarks.Foreign Minister Dominic Olsen today made some remarks on the recent comments of Vanuku's Prince Lazr and on the militarization of Vanuku's borders with Jelbania. "We are aware of the comments made by Vanuku, which are unfortunately distressing. We remind our neighbors to mind their own business, we have done nothing to provoke such inappropriate and intrusive comments. We implore them to refrain from this behavior and to avoid acts which may escalate the situation to which there is no return". Olsen who was speaking at the sidelines of a special assembly called by Jezhikoék'ai and United New Jelbania Deputy Party Leader Paul Chalini where he unveiled the constitutional reforms which sought to restore the Khanate under Isràkai Christopher and the House of Castileb, said that he was trying to contact his counterpart in Vanuku for a dialogue.
"At the end of the day, I think it's a matter of extending and expending our lines of communication. Diplomacy is about that. And that is what we will do. We will talk to them to sort things out". Olsen said with a smile, before finally managing a gentle laugh.
Though things at the Defense ministry have been quite different. The armed forces have been placed on high alert, and the reserve forces in the borders near Vanuku have been activated to compliment active units earlier placed by the central command. Insiders said that this was a necessary precaution undertaken by the Defense Ministry, as Vanuku earlier sent units near its borders with Jelbania.
