Tian'an-class aircraft carrier enters sea trials

The Tian'an-class aircraft carrier entered sea trials today as the announcement was made that the Indralan military began working on the future aircraft carrier programe nearly a decade ago. The Tian'an-class joins a recent surge in military R&D to counter efforts throughout the world and allow the Indralan Imperial Army Navy to carry out operations throughout the world. The Tian'an-class aircraft carrier was once a Trigunian design that was shared between the two countries, the fruition of monarch closeness has put the Indralans at the forefront of military research.

It is expected to carry nearly 70 aircraft total and have a nuclear power system. The sea trials are expected to end in the coming months. The first ship is expected to be commissioned and set out to sea shortly after, the Tian'an-class should provide some much needed show of force for the Indralan military.

Crown Prince Weds Dankukin Princess

Crown Prince Wu Zong unveiling Princess Hyuna

His Imperial and Royal Highness Crown Prince Wu Zong wed Her Highness Princess Ryeo Hyuna of Dankuk in a traditional Jienist ceremony at the Heavenly Palace in Tian'an. The immediate and extended families of the bride and groom were in attendance, along with government officials and nobility from both Indrala and Dankuk. This royal marriage shows the strength of the relations between Dankuk and Indrala, further strengthening their familial bond.

Edit: This is a very late writing of the marriage, as both families desired to maintain privacy throughout the process. The royal couple are already expecting their first child to be born this year.

August-Sage King Awards the Grand Protector, Chief Councilor Chastises Cildanian Communists

Military parade celebrating the Indralan victory

Victory! After years of fighting to preserve stability in Cildania when asked to intervene by the Cildanian state, Indrala has successfully purged the island of Ahmadi terrorism. For a majority of the time, Indrala fought alone to expel terrorism from the People's State, as Dorvik remained idle while Trigunia abruptly withdrew. The joint Indralan-Cildanian victory was thanks to the efforts of His Lordship Grand Protector Marshal Zhao Jing. Grand Protector Zhao's strategies proved successful in eliminating the Ahmadi threat while showing Terra the might of the Indralan Armed Forces.

A military parade celebrating the Indralan victory and Grand Protector Zhao's efforts welcomed the patriots and heroes home. As the parade concluded, His Imperial and Royal Majesty Wu Youren bestowed upon Marshal Zhao the titles "King of Anle, Duke of Zhongan, Marquis of Dongle, Count of Beian, Viscount of Xile, Baron of Nanan, and Baronet of Taixi" and the style of "His Highness". In addition, His Imperial and Royal Majesty promised the Grand Protector's first son the hand of the Princess Wu Huimu.

During the celebrations, Chief Councilor Shen Faming was quoted criticizing Cildanian communists.
Those in Cildania, mainly the communists, decrying the Zuixiao Military Base have no shame or sense of gratitude. We saved them from destruction by Ahmadi terrorism. Without us, they would be dead. This base will merely serve to bring stability to Cildania and allow us to watch out for Ahmadi terror. Instead of complaining of imperialism, the communists should focus on rebuilding their nation and defending it from enemy attack.

Attempted Palace Coup, Generals' Faction Disbands, Premature Ascent to Heaven

An elite group of soldiers led by Grand Protector Zhao Jing himself infiltrated the Heavenly Palace last night and briefly took the reigns of government. As leader of the Generals' Faction, Zhao Jing believed that a palace coup would be the only means to take authority from the Jienist bureaucracy who have ruled Indrala for nigh on a thousand years. Seeing as only the Blue Shirt Rebellion of militant monks was the only successful revolt in modern history, Zhao Jing struck. However, things went poorly for the soldiers of the Generals' Faction upon entry into the private palaces of the royal clan.

Upon awaking, His Majesty was in such a panic that He tragically died of a heart attack. With no legitimate means to enforce their will, Grand Protector Zhao ordered the killings of upper level ministers and to immediately place the remaining members of the royal clan under house arrest. Instead of following orders, the soldiers began looting the palace of precious objects of priceless value, giving the August-Sage Queen enough time to call upon the members of the Armed Forces loyal to the Wu Clan. It was only a matter of time before those responsible for the coup were arrested.

Finally having the rebels in custody, Zhao Jing was stripped of all rank and title. The conspirators were quickly tried by the Minister of Justice himself and convicted of high treason. All of the rebels were immediately branded, their noses sliced off, their feet and kneecaps amputated, castrated, then torn into four pieces by chariots. Finally, each man, while barely alive, was beheaded. What remained of their bodies were placed on display in the public squares throughout the country.

The extremity of the conspirators' actions led to their excruciating executions and public displays, which was spearheaded by the now August-Sage King Wu Zong. While privately enthroned, His Majesty is keen on a public ceremony directed towards the whole of Terra.

Enthronement Ceremony Captures the Nation

With the ascension of Wu Youren to Heaven, His Majesty August-Sage King Wu Zong rose to lead His country. Many changes, indeed, have occurred since the change in monarchs. A new president of the Gao-Showa Union was elected, the International Monarchist League changed its rules to allow for more emperors given they were able to appeal to legitimacy from a credible source, and the Rothingren-Traugott and Okatori houses returned to Dovani. Driven by these changes, His Majesty assumed the Dragon Throne in a glorious ceremony that harkened back to the times of the Kingdom of Gemu-Erka and the unification of Indrala.

Within the months of His father's passing, His Majesty ordered the construction of a new Altar of Heaven to be built as close to the original Gemu-Erkan altar stood. Accompanying the altar was a brand new temple complex, marking the establishment of a new era in Indralan history.

On September 5, Wu Zong was enthroned. During the ceremony, of which the Minister of Rites presided, His Majesty was surrounded by the five tripod vessels representing each state that made up Indrala. Each vessel was filed either with burning food or wine as sacrifices to Heaven and the nature gods, or spirits. After kowtowing to Heaven three times and praying for rain and a bountiful harvest, the new monarch was handed the Heirloom Seal of the Realm, in addition to the Staff of Authority. The Three Ducal Ministers each tied the royal pendant coin upon the royal sash, fitted the royal sword at the monarch's side, and dressed the new monarch in the traditional robes of state.

At the completion of the ceremony, His Majesty made an atypical speech, one that was sure to shock Indrala and the rest of Terra.

People of Great Indrala, Gao-Showans throughout Terra, upon this most auspicious day, by the grace of Heaven, We have been enthroned as monarch over Indrala. However, We are not solely Indrala's monarch, but the Son of Heaven. Heaven chooses one man in Terra to serve as His representative. All others are to swear fealty to the Son of Heaven without question. From this day forth, as the Son of Heaven, inheritor of the colonial and vassal empire of Indrala, and the leader of the nation in which Gao-Showan civilization was birthed, We declare ourselves Divine Emperor of the Celestial Empire of Great Indrala and the He Dynasty, as well as the Highest Grand Emperor of the Gao-Showa.

Due to these factors, along with having performed the proper ceremony, and declaration of Deltaria Nova, Lourenne, Talmoria and Aslistan, and Sekowo to be Our rightful vassals, Our imperial titulary is legitimate!

Factional Absence Explained, Divine Emperor Declares Supremacy Over All Under Heaven, Foreign Affairs Hits Another High

The Central Government, after a decade, has finally reopened the National Assembly. For the past ten years, the cabinet and Divine Emperor had governed the Celestial Empire without the input of the National Assembly. His Imperial Majesty, along with the members of the Imperial Court, felt it necessary to suspend the National Assembly in an attempt to better “Jienify” Indrala. After the debacle with the Generals’ Faction, the government could not take any chances.

Throughout the most recent decade, peace has prevailed, giving Indrala the chance to further entrench its philosophical and religious beliefs, continue to improve infrastructure, better agricultural techniques, and foster an environment prone to economic growth and innovation. Now that the nation has been properly educated, His Imperial Majesty reinstated the National Assembly with great enthusiasm.

Despite the reopening of the nation’s legislature, the government feels it more prudent to rename the National Assembly to the Court Conference. The Court Conference is a much more ideal name, as it directly assumes loyalty to His Imperial Majesty and emphasizes the unique faction system of Indrala. In this system, the various factions work together in loyalty to the Divine Emperor to suggest and promote different policies. Literally, a conference of the factions takes place, making the name change to Court Conference all the more logical.

In other news, His Imperial Majesty, ever wiser in His increasing age, has issued a memorial, approved by the Central Government and the Imperial Court, declaring His supremacy over Tianxia. His Imperial Majesty asks all the nations of Tianxia to pledge fealty to Him. In exchange, there will be cultural exchanges, status of non-aggression between vassals, free and favored trade, legitimacy conferred to the leaders of vassal states, and Indrala’s pledge to defend vassal nations at all costs.

Tianxia was quickly defined as the areas in which Indrala historically had great influence, geographic proximity, or extreme cultural similarity, being Gaduridos, Kalistan, Vorona/Deltari-Nova, Talmoria and Aslistan, Lourenne, and Sekowo. There have even been some palace rumors that His Imperial Majesty will resume the title of Bawang or Hegemon-King of Gaduridos and Khan of Kalistan, but those are simply rumors and conjecture.

So many changes have taken place in Terra over the past ten years that it is difficult to know where to begin. It makes the most sense to begin with the fall Yukio-Labsburg Empire. While an official ally of the Celestial Empire, Indrala and members of the Central Government were ecstatic to see their fall. The Yukio-Labsburgs were intent on conquering both Indrala and Dankuk, even if it meant feigning alliance in the short term. With their fall, it would be plausible for His Imperial Majesty to claim the throne of Mikuni-Hulstria for himself, as His mother was a member of the Yukio-Labsburg Clan. However, that would be contradictory to traditional Gao-Showan laws of succession where females cannot inherit. Unfortunately, Neo-Septembrism has replaced the Yukio-Labsburgs, changing one evil with another.

Officially, the Celestial Empire opposes Septembrism in all its forms and condemns the current Hulstrian regime for wiping out all traces of the Gao-Showa. They continue to defy traditional Gao-Showan customs regarding the monarchy, seen with Okatori succession, and have even merged the House of Rothingren-Traugott with the Okatori Clan, ensuring that the Hulstrians will have supremacy over the Gao-Showans. Such a regime with no respect for traditional history and culture needs to be replaced.

Opening of the "Zoo"

After a few years of negotiations, the Celestial Empire has signed a treaty with Vanuku, Dankuk, and Trigunia outlining a pact of friendship, free trade, and mutual defense, changing the international political face of Terra. Pundits jokingly call the pact of nations the "zoo", referring to the fact that the treaty's name consists of the national animals of all three countries. This treaty is especially relevant, as its limits may be tested during the ongoing diplomatic disputes between Trigunia and Hutori. So far, Vanuku and Indrala have aided Trigunia diplomatically through the Collective Security and Cooperation Organization, calling upon Hutori to abandon their military base in Telemon, a staunch ally of Trigunia, and come to terms with international law. Should the united front continue, the zoo may be making a permanent mark on the face of Terra.

Quiet Meeting with Hutori

A few days ago His Royal and Grand Ducal Highness Grand Duke-Prince Thomas of Hutori arrived in Indrala to meet with members of the Imperial Clan of Wu to discuss solidarity among Terran monarchies. While an official visit, it was very brief and confined to the private residence of His Imperial Majesty. Gifts were exchanged, both sides pledged support for monarchy, and encouraged one another to improve relations with monarchies throughout Terra.

All discussion of current diplomatic issues between Trigunia and Hutori were avoided. Despite the avoidance, the Hutorian visit to Indrala must be a step in the right direction to resolve diplomatic tensions peacefully.

Celestial Empire Condemns Dolgarian Aggression

For no apparent reason, Dolgaria has, not only expressed its desire to declare war on Gaduridos, begun voting on a bill to declare war on all nations against communism. This action is entirely unprovoked, uncalled for, unjust, and immoral. Clearly, Dolgaria is warmongering, desiring to colonize Terra for their own gain. The Celestial Empire of Great Indrala calls for all nations to place sanctions on Dolgaria in order to get them to withdraw from military action. Already, Great Indrala has pledged to support Gaduridos in any war, reminiscing the good old days when both nations enjoyed a fraternal and, at one point, a monarchical relationship.

Execution in Jiaozhi

Yesterday afternoon, in what is sure to cause a scandal in the Hosian community, a Kazulian Aurorian Patriarchal priest named Martin Liten was executed for advertising his faith and entering the country as a missionary without government approval and blasphemy. Rumor also had it that he was preaching Septembrism, arguing that the Classical Jienist philosophy held dearly by most Indralans should be replaced by a Jienism following the precepts set out by the first Okatori sovereign of modern Gao-Soto. Grand Master (Governor) Ma Anshi of Jiaozhi approved of the execution after Liten's trial. Liten was, with great sadness, executed in the most brutal way. First, he was branded, then his kneecaps were removed, followed by castration, and finally dismemberment by four horses.

Father Liten's execution, according to Indralan law, was illegal. His punishments did not fit his crimes, which they were, but, more importantly, his trial did not follow Indralan court procedure. While the justice system in Indrala is largely tied with the local and national officials, all verdicts are automatically appealed until they reach the Minister of Justice. It is for the Minister to decide whether an individual was in compliance with the law. Father Liten's trial was not appealed, nor was the Central Government notified of a trial concerning a foreigner.

In light of the evidence, Grand Master Ma was stripped of his position and personal wealth reprimanded. He will be put on trial for illegally executing the office of Grand Master of Jiaozhi and treason, for disobeying official duties is an act of defiance against His Imperial Majesty. The Minister of Justice will preside over the trial and conduct the investigation. Mr. Ma's wealth will be donated to a charity focusing on integrating non-Indralans into Indralan society.

Some individuals believe that the defiance of such a high official in Jiaozhi unsurprising. Jiaozhi, for most of its history, has been a hotbed of rebellion and religious fanaticism, for it was here that the Blue Lotus Rebellion emerged and the primary Cheng Daenist temple was located. Certain citizens are concerned that Jiaozhi is actually home to a significant Cheng Daenist minority, pretending to abhor the religion known for the instigation of xenophobia, jingoism, and wars throughout Dovani. Others believe that Ma Anshi was according as an agent of the Yukio-Labsburg Clan, angered with Indralans for supporting the Divine Emperor of Great Indrala's title of Highest Grand Emperor of the Gao-Showa. Perhaps, Martin Liten was sent to be a martyr for the Aurorian Patriarchal Church, eager to make a present in Indrala, known for its suspicious of Western philosophies. No matter the reason, certainly, Father Liten's tragedy is a sign that the Central Government must ensure that the principles of Jienism are strictly followed by government officials at the city, state, and national levels.

Their Imperial Majesties Celebrate Successful Naval Drills with a Naval Tour

Image
Their Imperial Majesties watch as the Black Tortoise Fleet sets sail

After concluding a successful round of military drills with "Zoo" allies Trigunia, Dankuk, and Vanuku, the Celestial Empire has decided to continue with its display of military extravagance and launch the Black Tortoise Fleet on a tour of Terra. The Black Tortoise Fleet, the most famous and elite fleet of the Imperial Navy, will traverse Terra, making ports of call in areas Indrala considers vital to Terran harmony. Overall, the fleet intends to circumnavigate Terra, showing off Indrala's naval hardware to the world, with the hopes of displaying the Celestial Empire's traditional grandeur, as well as garner potential buyers to boost the Indralan economy.

Dengzhou Students Engage in Cultural Revolution, Push for a Nationwide Re-Look

Students in Dengzhou University have brought the Indralan New Culture Movement to a new height, as an estimated 10-15,000 students gathered on campus grounds in a mass demonstration to raise awareness on what they call the inertia and stagnancy of Indralan traditional Jienist philosophy. One of the largest gatherings of the New Culture Movement, the Dengzhou students have already began chanting slogans of "Criticise Ji Enzi!" and "Criticise Jienism!", calling for nationwide soul-searching and a re-look into a widely-held philosophy in traditional Indralan culture.

Political science student Wang Ding believes that Jienism is to blame for "Indralan cultural repression and social oppression". He believes that traditional Jienism is "a philosophy of stagnancy, calling for people to blindly obey a rigid social hierarchy out of an endless desire for bland social harmony". He believes that Indrala should embrace a global, humanistic perspective of dignity and individualism, rather than the "oppressive" approach of Jienist philosophy, and Wang Ding is not alone. Female students like Tang Zheming and She Ling have called Jienism a "misogynistic philosophy", blaming the philosophy for the subjugation and forced submission of women in the Indralan traditional family unit. She Ling also blames Jienism for practices such as arranged marriages, child marriages and foot-binding, traditional customs that she and other students have derided as "barbaric".

The students are officially acting on their own, under a loose, deregulated organisation called Students for a Humane Society in Dengzhou University. However, even in Tian'an in the Han province, speculation is mounting as scholar-officials such as Duke Yuan Ling and Duke Wu Shi have refused to give comment, even though their court faction, the Yigu Faction, was formed in the wake of the intellectual introspection and mass politics of the New Culture Movement. Duke Yuan Ling and factional member Liu Zhengli have refused to comment and publicly claimed no relations to the present demonstrations, as of yet. However, with the scale of intellectual dissent amongst Dengzhou's young intellectuals, more developments are bound to follow.

Central Government Brushes Off Protests, Issue Jienist Pronouncement

The large and very public protests at Dengzhou University, Indrala's premier Western-style university, has dominated news outlets throughout the nation for the past few weeks. These protests are the first large-scale protests in over one hundred years. They come at a time when the Jien Faction, successor to numerous other political groups, like the Imperial Party, Jien-Imperial Party, Jienist-Democratic Party, will be closing in on largely one thousand years of unchallenged governance of Indrala.

Many government officials do not appear concerned with the protests, calling the protesters "ignorant of history", "attention seekers", and "anti-Indralan Septembrists". So far, the Central Government has issued a pronouncement in defense of Jienism. It reads:

The works and teachings of Ji Enzi, the greatest philosopher and human being in Indralan history, are the soul of the country. It has moved our nation forward since the Kingdom of Gemu-Erka when its principles were put into practice. It helped establish the Indralan state in the 900s and influence the workings of government. For the most part, it has kept society harmonious and ordered. Only when radical non-Jienist philosophies come to the forefront of life does chaos and death ensue. All should remember the evils of Cheng Daenism, their revolutions, and the disastrous Southern Hemisphere War, in which Indrala became an imperialist aggressor and was severely damaged by constant bombardment.

Contrary to what is being said, Jienism is an egalitarian, progressive, and humanistic philosophy. All people are equal in the sense that the roles they play are equally important for society to function harmoniously. Without proper roles, individuals will fight for power and wealth, disrupting the social order and leading to death and economic ruin. Jienism promotes scientific and economic innovation, as it improves the lives of the people. The people are the core of Jienism. Benevolence and virtue must be practiced, in turn, with propriety and ritual. All things work together to create a harmonious and prosperous society where the people benefit.

Above all, Jienism has propelled Indrala to being among the greatest nations in Terra. A more rigorous study of the Classics will give you all the answers you need in life.

It is unknown how much attention government officials will pay to the student protests, but more reactionary members of the bureaucracy are bound to push for a more intense response.

Yigu Leadership Remains Silent as Student Demonstrators Stay Defiant

Image

The condemnatory statement issued by the Central Government seems to have done nothing to quell the protests at Dengzhou University, which has stirred-up intellectual discussion across the country on the validity and relevance of Jienist philosophy in the modern age. The Dengzhou University Board has refused to comment on the protest, making vague statements that they "stand by the wisdom of the Court who represents the divine will of the Son of Heaven" and nothing more. Even so, some lecturers such as Professor Ming Yiren and Yang Qichao have already made statements commending the students for their bravery, insights and social awareness in Indralan history and politics.

Meanwhile, one of the student leaders of Students for a Humane Society, Li En, spoke with us in response to the Government's official statement. "We are not here to cause trouble or topple the Central Government. We are social activists, not political activists. We only want to raise awareness on what we see as this country's millennias-old love affair with Jienist philosophy, because beyond a certain point the mindless fetishisation of Jienism needs to end." While the movement is pretty de-centralised and the students have issued no official political demands, many students have already hit back at the Government for what they view as an "atrocious" comment.

Feminist student She Ling spoke to an adoring crowd of more than 10,000 students and boldly proclaimed, "When my parents tried to force me into an arranged marriage, I ran away from home because I did not want to be an object to my husband. My parents' blind fetishisation of Jienism has done nothing but cause me misery in my life. So I say to the Government now, about their utterly, utterly disgraceful comments - I'm a woman who doesn't intend on marrying the husband chosen for me. I'm a woman who is right here wearing revealing clothing because its my body, my choice. I'm a woman who intends to be the equal of my husband and not his slave. And I'm an atheist who is proud of being an atheist and proud of being Indralan!" Many student activists have appeared on stage to chants of "Atheist and Proud", calling on the government to renounce their statements against religious minorities such as Cheng Daenist followers, with one even saying "Cheng Daenist are Indralans too. Who is the government to say otherwise?"

Meanwhile, speculation mounts about the link between the Dengzhou demonstrations and the newly-formed Yigu Faction in Tian'an. Many of the students, such as Wang Ning and Guo Fengtian, have met with top Yigu leaders and even played a role in drafting the "Yigu Manifesto" for the leadership. In addition, while the top leadership has remained silent, some middle-class individuals, such as textiles saleswoman Ming Yi, have openly called the Dengzhou demonstrations the "right path for Indrala", even saying "they exemplify the spirit of Yigu". As before, Yigu leader Duke Yuan Ling has so far issued no statement about the protests or the Dengzhou demonstrations. However, investigative journalism has revealed that a secret meeting will be taking place tonight in the Tian'an home of Duke Yuan Ling, with top Yigu Faction leaders attending, including Duke Wu Shi, scholar-officials Liu Zhenglin and Jing Shan, and gentry-merchant Qiao Jiemin. This only fuels speculation about the ties of the Yigu Faction leadership to the Dengzhou demonstrations and raises only one question: when and how will the Yigu Faction respond?
