Cynthia Amphion, Selucian Ambassador
We cannot support the election of permanent members for the Security Council, as it would be a mess. We prefer the current system, were every x years, nations are elected according to the support they have among their continents. However, it would be interesting to give the World Congress a key in the Security Council, with something like the possibility of removing a member and replacing it with an agreed candidate if x number of ambassadors agree, and with at least x number of ambassador from the same continent than the nation that would be removed agreeing too. This would encourage the members of the Security Council to work towards a better world,
and not to be passive about what happens. Further links between the SC and the WC would assure that everyone complies with what it is decided here.
Regarding the issue of child labour, there are differences. There is a difference between allowing children to work in conditions according to their age and physical and physical capacities, with a respectable salary and the consent of their parents, and force children to work in extreme conditions, with low salaries or against the will of their parents. Selucia will never support child labour of under 16s, as our nation thinks the best place for a child is in school learning, but we allow ovver 16s to work while studying if this is their will, to earn a salary and pay for what they want.
